Do you want to spend the summer outdoors, meet people from all over the world and develop as a leader?
Last year's camp at Bäckedals Folk High School was a real success. Now we are looking for someone who wants to join us and create the same great community again. June 15–27, 2025 is the time for another midsummer camp in the inland of Norrland and 10 international volunteers will be able to participate together with two camp leaders. Read about the camp here in the search database.

We are looking for someone who will be IAL's on-site leader together with Bäckedal's own leader. Both leaders are participating in a camp leader seminar outside Frankfurt in Germany during the Ascension weekend 28/5–2/6. During the seminar, people gather to share experiences and prepare together.

About Bäckedals Folk High School
Bäckedals Folkhögskola is a nature-based folk high school located outside Sveg in Härjedalen. The school offers general courses for basic entrance qualifications, and profile courses in crafts, sustainability and ancient techniques. Wood, leather, metal and textile processes, from prehistoric times to the present day, run like a common thread through most of our courses. Together with broad sustainability, democratic values and man's historical relationship to nature, these are a central part of our activities.
Bäckedals Folk High School is funded by the Swedish state and is religiously and politically independent. The school's goals are global justice, human rights, gender equality and sustainable use of the earth's ecological resources.
Summer camp
During IAL's 2025 volunteer camp, participants will engage in tasks such as carpentry and woodworking, maintenance of historic buildings, gardening, vegetable growing and animal care. It is therefore desirable that volunteers have a personal interest in sustainability, crafts and cultural heritage.
