We are committed to peace and international understanding. We believe that cooperation builds bridges and promotes non-violence.
Work
We strive for volunteerism. During our workcamps, volunteers contribute their time and energy to create meaningful change in local communities.
Growth
We believe in growth. During our camps, volunteers have a chance to develop personally through intercultural exchange.
About IAL
Internationella Arbetslag (IAL) – SCI Sweden is a non-profit organisation that works for peace through international volunteer work. The organisation was founded in 1943 and soon became the Swedish branch of Service Civil International (SCI).
IAL believes that all people have the ability to live together in mutual respect and without resorting to any form of violence to resolve conflicts and that a peaceful world is thus possible.
IAL believes that a peaceful world is only possible if the thoughts and actions of individuals are characterised by respect and compassion. IAL believes that this is tantamount to mutual understanding between people of different cultural, religious, social and political backgrounds.
SCI's branches meet in Bonn to exchange experiences, discuss the future and strengthen peace work.
