SCI Solidarity Fund

The SCI Solidarity Fund enables and encourages disadvantaged volunteers to participate in SCI's international volunteer projects. The Solidarity Fund will award small grants to successful applicants to cover:

Travel and visa costs to the volunteer camp,

Miscellaneous hosting costs.
The main aim of the fund is to encourage active participation of disadvantaged volunteers to their local branch or group of SCI, to give more visibility to SCI globally and locally and to share our vision with a wider audience, and to improve the mutual respect and understanding within the organisation.
Disadvantaged volunteers may include people who are:

Members of ethnic and racial minority groups,

Immigrants and refugees/asylum seekers,

Long-term unemployed participants (more than 6 months),

People with disabilities.
Applications should be sent to the SCI branch, group, partner or contact organisation, which in Sweden is IAL. The application must include details of the project the participant intends to participate in (code/date etc.) and their motivation to participate in the project, as well as brief information about the applicant's current or previous volunteering experience.
The application must be submitted at least four weeks before the project starts and must include the costs that the applicant estimates they will need to participate in the project, such as travel, visas, costs for companions/social companions, etc. The applicant must describe the costs they can cover themselves.
Within one month of the project being completed, the applicant must compile a project report and send it to both their sending and hosting organisations.
