Our mission
Internationella Arbetslag (SCI Sweden) is a non-profit organisation that works for peace through international volunteer work. The organisation was founded in 1943, then under the name Internationella Arbetslag (IAL) and soon became the Swedish branch of Service Civil International (SCI).
We are an association with a long history (1943) that wants to work for a peaceful world. We believe that when people from different countries and cultures work together for a non-profit cause, the conditions for a culture of peace are created. The non-profit projects can be about environmental issues or helping socially vulnerable groups, for example. IAL has no profit interest and the activities are based on non-profit work. The association is religiously and politically independent.
Anyone who wants to participate in an international volunteer camp is welcome to apply and register for volunteer camps in the workcamp database administered by the international Service Civil International (SCI) of which we are the Swedish member association.
