What a celebration! Just over 30 people met in Stockholm in April 2023 and celebrated that SCI Sweden turns 80 this year 🎉 The association had an extraordinary annual meeting and elected a new board with Kristina Hellqvist as chairperson 👏

SCI Sweden has been running a somewhat languishing operation for a number of years and was threatened with closure due to lack of commitment. A large number of former active members hung up when Johanna Lundqvist said: ”Closing a peace association in the middle of a war, never” and suddenly the ball had been set in motion and at the meeting there were several ideas about breathing life into SCI Sweden.

What was fantastic about the evening were all the great stories about what SCI (old IAL) has meant to us who participated. Both hilarious stories that made us laugh at the memories and important stories about how going to camp shaped you as a person. And the experience was great, some of the participants had been to camp in the 60s (!) including Kerstin and Lennart (see picture 3), while others have been to camp in the 2000s like Sara (see picture 2).

We had one thing in common; now we are taking SCI Sweden into the future! So stay tuned and please help share this ❤️
